The Lazy-Man's Post

I'm just going to post a bunch of stuff that I've been meaning to post, but never got around to it:

Jim got me a ticket to go see Australian Pink Floyd with him, which was so freaking cool of him. It was absolutely amazing! It was so much better than I could have ever expected and I just have to say that if anyone ever has the chance to go see this show, don't let it pass! I had goosebumps and my hair was standing on end through many of the songs. So so so good. Thanks Jim!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Brian has a lot of handsome faces - This is just one of many. I was actually thinking of dedicating an entire post to all of the pictures that Brian has like this where he has intentionally made himself look awful. Many of them he takes himself - thats just funny.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I love the grape soda. I was so happy when I found these gems at Wal-Mart of all places. Glass bottled grape soda. Needless to say, it was delicious. The only problem is that there isn't ever any caffeine in grape soda. I'm too tired all the time to be drinking blank soda. If someone ever made a caffeinated diet (I'm getting really fat) grape soda, I don't think I'd ever drink anything else.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Brian, Savannah, and I were driving to meet Jim at Braza on Saturday and we saw this train carrying a seemingly endless line of huge tanks! It was actually really cool, probably a lot cooler than it sounds second-hand. The tanks just kept coming and coming! We never even saw how many there were total. I don't think anyone thinks a tank is lame - It's a freaking tank!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We got these new Pumas for Vaughn. Yes, I do intend to post every new article of Puma clothing that this kid gets. So cool.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Brian got Vaughn this Utes get-up for the BYU-Utah game the other week. It looks even cooler when you see the whole thing.

Sum Pics

He just started doing this a little while ago. He just stays there leaning back - smiling and laughing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know it's messed up to not help him, but there is something so funny to me in the fact that he can't simply take off his own shirt. Look how hard he is trying and he just can't do it. In my defence, he was laughing most of the time that he was making his attempt. Also, he isn't really skinny like it looks in the pic - he is just putting everything he has into it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This kid has the entire Chick-Fil-A playplace at his disposal, and what does he do? Yep, spends the whole time playing with this mesh wall. He had no interest in anything else once he found this baby. Poking his finger through and laughing... what in the world is going on in little kids' brains?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
This green one is my favorite of Vaughn's shirts. Jim and I were just talking the other day about how it's funny that we just decided for Vaughn that he loves Puma. Jim has bought him a couple different Puma track-suits like the one below (so cool) and Savannah and I have bought him various Puma clothes too. This kid looks good.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I so badly wish that kid's didn't like Dora the Explorer so much - I guess if they didn't I couldn't have squeezed off this pic, though, so I suppose she is a blessing and a curse... More of a curse.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Impressive as this looks, its even better to know that he jumped clear over from the Tickle-Me-Elmo to slam this one in.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------

That's funny.

Hallowhat!?

Vaughn was pretty proud of his dragon costume this year. Whenever he had it on he would come up to me and point to it with this big smile of his face as if to say "Oh, if you didn't notice, Dad, I'm wearing this dragon costume... so..."

Vaughn's Big Day

As referred to in the last post, this kid love shopping carts. We went to Home Depot and there were these race car carts that he absolutely loved. Usually the thing he loves about carts is pushing them, but this one he just loved sitting in. He actually cried like crazy when he had to get out.

-------------------------------------------------

SAME DAY AND IT JUST GOT BETTER:

If you read the last post, I don't even have to say how happy the pics below made him. It was like his dream came true thanks to Petsmart.

We actually took him to Petsmart because we thought it would be fun for him to see some animals. As far as he was concerned, we went to some smelly place to push a decent sized cart.

The Great Vaughn

He was trying to listen to the talk and Savannah and I were being noisy.
Reverence Styleeeeeee!
(at one point he threatened to sit between us)
---------------------------------------------

I am being completely serious when I say that this is one of the best things that you could ever feel. If any of you have ever thought about not ever having kids - just have Vaughn give you one of these and I promise you will change your mind.
It's even better when it is your kid. I'm not just saying it, I truly mean it. This is really one of the coolest things that can happen to you.

-------------------------------------------

On a different note, this is one funny kid. Every single time we go to any store he insists on pushing the cart. He freaking loves it! As soon as he sees a cart he will do anything in his power to get over there and push it. I don't know why it makes him so happy. Plus, he has to be the only one holding it. If your hands are on the cart too - he finds it unacceptable.

...And it isn't just that he wants to hold the bar while we hold him and push - sometimes he will just book it over to an abandoned cart and push it himself. I wish I could have caught the ridiculously huge smile on his face.

Church Styleeeee!

No Hook Yet

I don't have a good hook to get people to pay attention to my blog yet, so I'm going to fall back on the same thing that every parent with a blog goes to, yep that's right - pictures of my kid. Fortunately, I have a ridiculously funny kid - so pictures of him rarely fail to please... me.

Most days Vaughn goes straight to the entertainment center, takes out a game controller, sits on the love-sac and looks up at the TV as if to say "I'm ready to play now." Usually he is a really well behaved kid, but when he gets on Xbox Live and plays against other kids over the internet he has a tendency to turn into a bully. I always hear him talking all sorts of crap to "Noobs" as he calls them. I don't even know what that means but he sure likes to yell it into the headset at people. On-line video games really seem to bring out the worst in this little guy... Funny pictures though.

Here goes no thing...

I took a page out of Jim's book here by just looking at what pictures I had on my computer and plopping one down in order to begin my first post. The pic, snapped by master photographer, Luke, stirs memories through my mind like the last few lumps of grape Kool-Aid flavoring that just won't seem to disolve into the sugar water no matter how hard you try. Switching direction from clockwise to counter and back won't help - these memories are here to stay. I guess it isn't a great comparison, because unlike those stubborn chunks of delicious drink mix, I really like the memories of this occasion.

Why is it only grape? Cherry mixes just fine, as does fruit punch. I've never had a problem with pink lemonade refusing to blend in - just grape. What makes it even worse is the fact that grape is obviously the best flavor of all. If Rock-a-dile Red or Mountainberry Punch left powdered floaties on the top, no big deal, dump it out and try a good flavor. Why grape?

Anywho, back to the picture. This Summer thanks to Rett, we had the opportunity to play music in front of thousands of people. It was incredible.

I think I need some sort of hook for my blog or it is going to fail. Jim has the daily spotlight... Man, what a great idea. I wish I had something like that. I hate to be a Johnny-come-lately, but if it wasn't for Jim's blog there is no chance I'd have ever started one myself. In the last couple of days it seems like his blog has occupied the majority of my thoughts - "Will Vaughn make a third appearance?", I ask my brain. I sure hope so. "Who will he spotlight today?", I think to myself. I have no idea, but heaven help me - I will continue clicking that refresh button as many times as it takes to find out.
